Hello, I apologize, try to get in touch with you, but I saw no link mail to talk privately. You're right, and I apologize, in the video description said that BMW m3 finland was copied from your skin. I have already deleted folder m3 Finland BMW download folder and have changed the description of the video, even putting a link to your blog. I hope accept my apologies. Thank you!! Greetings from the Canary Islands.
Why, Myra? A simple conversion? Not plagiarism? What have you been smoking? Seeing that Gus already admitted the wrongdoing and yet you still feel the need to stand up for him. Now that's very strange, for sure.
As Rontti already stated, it was a straight copy-paste from his work and credits were clearly nowhere to be seen (I happened to download the first pack on a whim and got very curious seeing this exchange). This couldn't have been any clearer example of leeching. "I saw no link mail to talk privately"... oh come on, get outta here with that nonsense, gus. None of my business obviously, but that's just a lame effort of an excuse.
While Rontti personally seems satisfied now, I can't help but have my doubts about the other skins because once a leecher, always a leecher. That's the way it is.
Of course, I apologize for expressive commentary, but I would be very pleased if this discussion would not shift to the personal level (I'm a non-smoker, Gus is not a cheater). First I want to say that I very much appreciate Rontti's work and I am glad for every new job for RBR. Then more daunting to me but this pettiness with which he handled here a quite minor problems. It is not enough description in the video and apology? You really have to erase - to destroy everything that is not completely original? Thus, things go rather in rough business sphere, but not in the Community , which has a common interest in the development of our popular games. Sorry for my G-translator talks, hopefully I'll be well understood.
I really don't know what was expressive about your commentary (so no need to apologise), but what I do know is that I strongly disagreed with your rather peculiar stance. I still don't quite get why you keep insisting on Gus not being "a cheater" - very gullible of you to think that - when it was already established that he added something to the video description ONLY AFTER he was called out for it. Now, there's always an outside chance for plain ignorance, but call me cynical because I just don't believe that.
I hate to speak for others, but for all I care, this Rontti guy could have been far more confrontational and downright insulting and with every right (maybe he originally was, I don't know). Who could have blamed him for that? You may trivialise or play this down yourself as "a minor" issue, but really, who are you to tell how a modder should react or feel when you weren't the one whose work was used without permission. Have you ever had to deal with this kind of thing yourself? I have to presume that you haven't, because I can't see why you would say things you say if you had.
Listen, you make that comparison between businesses and a game community, but the truth is that somewhat contrary to your possible ideas (and I admit I'm kinda reading between the lines now) it truly isn't in the best interests of the community to tolerate stealing in any way, and not only because it often is a sure-fire way to discourage a modder sharing his/her work in the future. If you worried about this kind of mod policing was somehow bad for the community and the vibrancy of it in particular (some would say: killing the community), then you're very much mistaken because the community, however small it is, can easily go on without any rogue skinpacks.
I fully honor your opinion and leave further discussion of this, because I know that I can not fully explain my opinion in English. Just one last note - copying is not stealing. According to your vision of RBR moding we had removing most of converted cars from the online plugins .
That's not my vision of modding at all. I don't give a flying toss whether some models are converted from, say, Dirt or WRC games. I don't care enough for big companies and let's be real, they can take care of themselves if they so wish. But since I'm a fellow modder and a pompous git, modders' interests are very close to my heart.
So for the sake of getting the last word, I repeat, this lovely debate only occurred because the original modder went uncredited and you, for some odd reason, decided to belittle this genuine concern. That was ill-advised in my book, but we all make mistakes. I simply couldn't get my head around how the idea of giving credit where it's due seemed so trivial almost to the extent of being totally unreasonable to you. :) Essentially this was just a repetition of an age-old modding topic. Surely you must agree deep down with most of the modding world but you just can't admit it to me. :D In RBR modding history alone there has been countless instances that were similar by nature, and I bet you felt for couple of stage makers with their own relatively recent texture-"copying"-related concerns at the time they were on.
But be that as it may, it's been entertaining throughout. And listen, Myra43, RBR+ still remains the best RBR-related site in existence, and I want you to know that. No need to change anything, keep it up!
(As a footnote, RSRBR to my knowledge has always tried to maintain that policy you described of not using converted models unless of course they have been modded ones to begin with and they have been converted with blessing from the original author. And one can quite easily argue that all of this hasn't really been much of a problem for the online plugins thus far.)
ok, I've understood the concept, I deleted the link, I am new to this and did not mean to harm or bother anyone, I felt the illusion that we could all enjoy the bmw m3 favorites (in Canary love bmw m3) I feel discomfort, ask you once again to Rontti for not asking permission to adapt her skin, a very serious error. I hope the post is removed as it is no longer the link. I will continue working, learning and sharing with you. Thank you very much to myra43 and RBR team +.
